CPLA Board of Directors Biographies

Ron Colley, term expires 2024

Ron has been a land owner on Chemo Pond since 2000. He is married with 3 children. He is a 25 year veteran of the US Air Force. He is currently employed by the Cross Insurance Center as a Security Supervisor and acts as a Test Administrator for the Military Entrance Exam.

Rudy Shorette, Vice President, term expires 2025

Rudy grew up on Chemo having been on the pond for 50 years. He and his wife Kathy built a new home on Chemo and plan to enjoy their retirement time on and around the pond. They have 1 child. Rudy is the source of the fireworks display on July 3 every year.

Kathy Trenholm, term expires 2025

Kathy is married to Rudy Shorette. We have summered on Chemo for 20 years and recently built a log cabin to live here full time. Kathy is interested in environmental activities in and around the lake. She is a certified Invasive Plant Patroller to help identify invasive aquatic plants in the lake.

Leslie Sturzenberger, President, term expires 2023

Leslie was born and raised in Minnesota where she grew up boating and camping. Her love of the northern woods led her to spend most summers over the last 20 years in Maine aboard her Mason 44 sailboat, Algonquin and then her 55’ trawler. In 2016, Leslie and her husband, Larry, purchased their current home on Chemo Pond where they are happily spending time on anything that floats. When Leslie is not floating on Chemo Pond, she works with Fortune 500 companies globally to develop leaders and build team performance.


Leo “Butch” Robichaud, term expires 2023

Butch is a third generation resident of Chemo Pond in Eddington. He is a avid outdoorsman who enjoys all the benefits of living in the great state of Maine. Hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and boating are all favorite activities. Butch has a background in Environmental Services having worked for 33 years as the plant supervisor and pretreatment coordinator in a waste water facility. He is dedicated to the goal of making sure Chemo Pond remains a clean healthy lake that his descendants and all residents of Chemo Pond can enjoy forever.

Charlie Clemons, term expires 2024

Charlie was born and grew up in Portland. As a young kid, he enjoyed lobstering and fishing Down East, where his folks were from, and ate his share of fresh caught haddock and wild blueberries. After a lengthy career with the State of Maine working in the field of intellectual disabilities, he worked more than 10 years with a community agency serving the same population including people recovering from traumatic brain injury. Charlie has lived on Chemo Pond for 28 years and built a new home a few years back with his wife Jane to enjoy their retirement on the pond.

Leslie Spencer, Treasurer, term expires 2023

Leslie and her husband Jim have a camp on Chemo Pond on German Cove. It was built by Jim’s grandfather in the 1950’s. They are looking forward to spending more time on the pond in the coming years.

Bonny Freeman, term expires 2025

Bonny grew up in Old Town, graduated with a BS in Zoology/Minor in Education for the University of Maine. Bonny taught and substituted while raising two children, and enjoyed their three grandchildren while helping run their insurance company with her husband, Jerry. Bonny and Jerry bought in 1995 and built their Chemo Pond home there in 1998. Now retired, they no longer RV to Florida in the winter, but hope to once again spend their summers at their island cottage in New Brunswick, Canada.
