The sandbags have been removed and the heavy equipment is gone. There is water flowing over the rock weir and through the new crib on its way to the Penobscot River. The top of the rock weir is approximately 125.6 ft. above sea level. It should hold back water in Chemo Pond to the same extent as the boards in the same spillway did before the construction project. The weir doesn’t begin to hold back water until the water drops to 125.6 ft. Given all the rain we have had this fall, we probably won’t see how well it works until next summer. This will be my last post on this subject unless something changes.
